Admission to the MTech program at UIET is based on the candidate’s GATE score and performance in the qualifying examination.
Preference is given to GATE-qualified candidates for all courses.
Candidates with at least 60% marks in the qualifying examination will be given admission if seats remain vacant after the GATE-qualified candidate's admission.

No. For viewing and making decisions on available admission offer (s) from the participating Institute (s), candidates will have to register at COAP. M.Tech application IDs can be different at different Institutes but you will have only one COAP registration number. Moreover, COAP registration number is a mandatory field in the M.Tech Application process of the participating institutes.

As per the QS World University Rankings, IIT Delhi is the third best institute in India and 174th globally. In the NIRF rankings, it has been ranked at the second spot under the "Engineering" category. Candidates get good placement opportunities. The highest international and domestic package offered was INR 2 crore per annum and INR 1.25 crore per annum. In IIT Delhi placements, 50 students received package more than INR 1 crore per annum (domestic). Thus, it is great if a candidate gets admission at IIT Delhi.

Before knowing the cutoff, students must understand the difference between admission and qualifying cutoff of GATE. the exam qualifying cutoff is the institute eligibility cutoff while the GATE admission cutoff ensures a call for admission at IITs, NITs, IIITs, and CFTIs. The qualifying GATE cutoff score is released by the conducting authority and available on GOAPS while the admission cutoffs are released by the individual participating institutes (IIT Gandhinagar in this question's context) and available on their respective counselling portals- GATE COAPS.
Qualifying GATE cutoffs | Admission GATE cutoffs |
|---|---|
Also referred to as eligibility cutoff, it is the minimum score required to be eligible for admission. | It is the final opening and closing ranks score fixed by the participating institutes for final selection |
Meeting the qualifying cutoff does not mean final seat allotment for admission | Meeting the admission cutoff does not mean final seat allotment for admission |
It is fixed before the announcement of GATE results | It is fixed after the declaration of GATE result |
It is announced by the conducting IIT and is available on GOAPS
| It is released by the individual participating institutes and available on their respective counselling portal – CCMT/ COAP |
It includes qualifying marks for each paper | It includes opening and closing ranks for courses offered at participating institutes |
For more information on GATE cutoff, refer to this link.
