This might be true in 60% cases but not all M.Tech students get better packages as compared to B.Tech students as salary depends entirely on technical skills, experience and knowledge.

For pursuing M.Tech, you have to give GATE i.e. graduate aptitude test in engineering. Based on your rank in GATE, you can apply to various engineering colleges. Also, some private institutes and some states organise their own entrance exams. But mainly, the GATE score is acceptable in maximum number of institutes.
