Here are the following options:
1. You can go for further studies i.e. Ph.D which is now of 3 years only (in most of the colleges).
2. You can go for the teaching job. You can go in many colleges and become the assistant professor or you can get the teaching job and can continue your Ph.D within the college only. This is the most efficient option because in this you can continue your studies while working.

Hi Tanuj, Design Engineering is not the same as machine design. The former is a more persuasive domain where the design of systems, processes, and parts are done in diverse fields, whereas the latter is more specific and niche into mechanical machine components. BITS Pilani offers only M.E in Design Engineering as a regular higher degree course. However, you can take certain electives of Machine Design if you want. For more information, you can visit http://bitsadmission.com/hdmain.aspx
Hope I have cleared your query.

There are many colleges which give admission to their M.Tech on the basis of merit that is percentage of B.Tech or UG programme. You can check it on NET. You can even join Galgotia Univeristiy. It offers on basis of merit. It depends on you that you want to continue your studies or choose for better job. You have to select the option in between the two. Best of luck.
