Data Science Courses After 12th: Eligibility

The general eligibility criteria to pursue any data Science course after 12th preferably a diploma/bachelor’s/master’s is graduation in Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Data Science, or related fields. Aspirants need to score above 50% in graduation. Top data Science colleges such as IIT Madras ask for a minimum of 60% marks in graduation to be eligible for data Science courses.

Data Science CertificationsHigh school from a recognised board, and basic knowledge of maths, computer science, and statistics. Some colleges/institutes may ask for a 50% aggregate score in high school
Diploma in Data ScienceBE/BTech/MCA/MSc degree with a minimum aggregate of 50% and statistics, computer, or programming as core subjects.
BSc/BTech/BCA Data ScienceClass 10+2 from a recognised board with PCM and Computer Science/Statistics
MSc/MTech/MCA Data ScienceBCA/BSc Statistics/BSc Mathematics/BSc Computer Science/BSc IT/BE or BTech or equivalent degree from a recognised university with 50% marks. Candidates with knowledge of mathematics and statistics are preferred
PhD in Data Science55% marks in master’s degree in any discipline. Candidates with a higher GPA will be preferred

DU cut off for general category is listed as the over cut off for DU is 6.91 to 77.9 marks 6.91 for MA 7.654 Masters 6 2.754 EWS category 77.9 marks 40 category and 62% marks for the SC category 60% marks for the ft category and 55% marks for the physically handicapped candidate

Depends on the type of college you take admission you can't expect the top class colleges at this marks but there is nothing to worry you can drop to provide material tracking some difficult entrance says but if you generally pursue this course to follow it with the burning passion these after graduation other exams also.

It depends on how many students applied for the same course. Last year, around 12000 students applied for B.Scstats hons, competition in this course was quite low as compared to others, so we didn't have to compete much for this course, and got seat in one of the best colleges of DU easily. (still if you ask for minimum marks, so it will be 500+)

Consider this info:

1. Scoring above 700 can be taken as a very good score in CUET. Marks above 600 can get you a seat in top colleges like DU, BHU, JNU, etc.

2. A score between the range of 400-600 can be regarded as an average score in CUET 2025 exam. Students with such scores are likely to secure admission to good colleges in India. 

So, if you want to get into top good college it would not be possible as B.Sc maths courses is in much higher demand but you can look upto other average government for conselling.

Yes it beneficial to have CSIR NET exam after doing graduation in BA course.It is very beneficial to do M.Sc from MCM college also.

Yes, students seeking admission to BCom (Hons) at Hindu College must have completed their Class 12 with the below subject conditions:

  • Combination 1: Any one language from List A along with one among Mathematics/ Applied Mathematics + Any two subjects out of which at least one should be from List B1 OR
  • Combination 2: Any one Language from List A along with one among Accountancy/ Book Keeping + Any two subjects out of which at least one should be from List B1

Final merit list which is released by the college is created subject to the scores obtained by the students in their CUET exam.
