Good to see that you have got a knowledge in VBscript but you mentioned you are interested in coding also. Nowadays, industry needs application to be developed in such a fashion by this requirements must be fulfilled with a cost effective solution.
PHP works quite well here. It comes with some latest version like cake PHP and laravel. After doing this, you can start off with freelancing part-time without hampering your existing work.
