All applicants must have a minimum three-year Bachelor's degree or equivalent with at least 50% total marks in any discipline. Candidates are selected based on academic performance in the 10th & 12th classes of CBSE or equivalent qualification from a recognised Institute. A minimum of 50% aggregate is required, and you must also have passed English (core or elective, or functional) as a subject. Fresh graduates and students appearing for the final year degree examination are also eligible to apply. Applicants must be registered for XAT or CAT GMAT or CMAT. Appropriate weightage is given to the work experience of the candidates.

Admission to the PGDM course is based on entrance test scores such as MATXATCATCMATATMAMHT CETMAH CET, and others followed by online group discussions and Personal Interview rounds. N. L. Dalmia Institute of Management Studies and Research also considers the past academic records, work experience, and extracurricular activities of the candidates. Candidates must prepare for the selection round in advance as the selection round is very tough and there is tough competition.

The admission criteria for an MBA is that the applicant must have earned a bachelor's degree in at least three years with a minimum grade point average of 50% (45% for Tamilnadu BC, BCM, MBC, SC, SCA, and ST categories).
Although they have to clear the college entrance exam as well to get a valid merit score, candidates accepted into degree programmes through later entry are ineligible to pursue an MBA from St. Joseph's College of Engineering.
