The scores of the HSC and SSC are considered for IIM-Bangalore and few others. But IIM-Ahmedabad, Calcutta, etc., give the admission on the basis of the CAT score. As you know there is some reservations on the basis of the caste and for the general category, the cut-off is above 98 percentile to receive a call followed by the OBC, a decrease in 25-26 percentile and the SC and ST have a very low cut-off. A minimum CAT percentile is required to be shortlisted for further rounds of selection. IIMs and non-IIM colleges release their separate category-wise cut-offs. Candidates must both clear sectional & overall cut-off to be deemed eligible.
It is expected that the difficulty level of CAT 2018 will be low, while the cut-off will be high, CAT 2018 exam date is out and it will be held on November 25, 2018. Candidates who qualify the admission criteria will be called for the next round of selection process WAT and GD/PI rounds. Generally, a candidate with 99+ percentile gets a call from the top IIMs. Latest: CAT 2018 application form will be available from August 2018.

182 candidates shortlisted with CAT 2017 percentile below 90.
General category candidate with 81.53 percentile in CAT get shortlisted.
IIM-Bangalore
1000+ candidates shortlisted.
High academic profile considered for shortlisting.
IIM-Lucknow
1500 candidates shortlisted for the PI-WAT round.
CAT 2017 cut-off for PGP was 90+.
CAT cut-off for PGP-ABM and PGP-some was 85+.
Final admission round consists of PI & WAT, no group discussion.
IIM-Indore
1400 candidates shortlisted.
Shortlist cut-off was 90 percentile.
The final cut-off in admission offer may go to 90+.
