IBSAT and CMAT both exams are for management admission. Through these exams, one can get admission in good management institutes.CMAT is tougher than IBSAT.
IBSAT exam includes Reading Comprehension, Verbal Ability, Quantitative Aptitude and Data Interpretation. CMAT includes Quantitative Techniques, Data Interpretation, Logical Reasoning, Reading Comprehension, etc.
So both the exams have similar content but only differ in difficulty level. Institutes like IBS Business School, ICFAI University, etc. also give admission through IBSAT and institutes like JBIMS-Mumbai, Goa Institute of Management-Goa, K. J. Somaiya Institute of Manageme

MAT exam includes Reading Comprehension, Logical Reasoning, Data Analysis, Mathematical Skills, etc. and CMAT includes Quantitative Techniques, Data Interpretation, Logical Reasoning, Reading Comprehension, etc.
There are many good institutes like NIT Warangal, Institute of Finance and International Management-Bangalore, etc. are also giving admission through MAT and institutes like JBIMS-Mumbai, Goa Institute of Management-Goa, K. J. Somaiya Institute of Man

Planning is very important to crack XAT in 6 months. So, my suggestions are:
XAT is easy as compared to CAT. I was also a student who prepared for XAT immediately after my graduation. The important things which you should look into while preparing for this exam are as follows:
1. Select one of the best coaching centres which offer quality education. TIME is one of the famous coaching centres for XAT and MAT.
2. Dedication-Be focused on the aim which you need to achieve.
3. Try to read Hindu newspaper editorial. Most of the passages which appear in XAT are from Hindu editorial.

Quantitative Skills - It will be a mix of DI and QA questions. QA will have questions from Algebra, Arithmetic, Numbers and Geometry. The questions will be easy but with a few tricky questions in between that makes it moderate level.
Logical Reasoning - Almost thirty percent of the questions will be on verbal reasoning (statement-conclusion, critical reasoning, strong & weak arguments, statement-assumption, course of action, etc.).
