Hello,
The score of CAT 2017 is applicable only for the academic session of next year i.e. 2018-2020 for any B-School in India. To be eligible for the 2018-20 session, you need to appear for the CAT '18 exam.

For getting into one of the IIMs CAT is compulsory as IIMs accept only CAT score. Along with IIMs 90% or more colleges in India accept CAT score except for few like Xavier colleges , Symbiosis etc for that you need to give XAT & SNAP respectively. Once you get a good score or percentile in CAT then your door to best business schools opens up.
