Level differs from exam to exam. XAT is the toughest and MAT is the easiest. CAT, CMAT and SNAP lies somewhere in between.

Yes, in good colleges they will check HS scores but getting into good B-school completely dependents on GD/PI. Score of HSC carries very little weightage.

It is simply impossible to get admission into a top-ranked college for a full time MBA program without appearing for any entrance exam(s), clearing the necessary cutoffs and performing well in the interview rounds (if shortlisted for it).

Looking overall and especially in BE, with a score of 85 percentile won't get you into a top B-School. It would have been better if had you appeared for CAT this year and increased your percentile.

May be not in top 3. You can apply for other IIMs. Many IIMs have come up. If you belong to a reserved category then you are likely to get something.

Required cut off for IFMR in CMAT is around 90 percentile. In CAT cut off is 80 percentile.
