Just that the difficulty level for CAT will be much higher and IBPS is relatively easy to crack as compared to CAT.
The topics are almost the same.

To get admission into any good B-school, one must appear for the entrance exam(s) whose score is considered by that particular B-school for its further interview process. So it is impossible to get admitted into a top B-school without appearing for the various entrance exams like CAT, XAT, etc.

Dear Akash,
This is the real test for MBA, how did you manage your time? See, time management is essential for cracking CAT. According to me, what you can do is every day give your 2 hours for CAT preparation. Once you get the free time from your engineering lectures, don't start new topic for CAT but revise what you studied earlier because, in this panic situation, it is very likely that you forget either CAT concepts or your B.Tech concepts and both are necessary for top B-School. Remember, scoring 99%ile in CAT may not get you a prestigious MBA college, but you have to equally focus on your B.Tech score card as it has a lot of weight

The best exam to get into a B-School is CAT followed by other competitive exams like XAT, CMAT, SNAP, IIFT, TISS-NET, ATMA and NMAT. Most institutes accept CAT scores.

Getting a management degree from an average college and then getting into managerial roles in corporate-sector, or, clearing banking exams and then securing positions like Probationary Officer.

CAT percentile to get selected in these institutes is on the higher side. Generally score around 98-99 percentile and above is required. Along with a good academic/work profile.

Hi Tamil Arasan,
Three divisions are there, most of the questions are asked from these only-
Quantitative Aptitude,
Data interpretation & logical reasoning,
Verbal and reading comprehension,
Arithmetic, Algebra, Number system & Geometry majorly comes in Quantitative aptitude.
Questions based on table, charts for data interpretation (4 questions in a set)
& logical reasoning questions come as a paragraph questions consisting around 4 questions from the question set.
English consists of para-jumbles, critical reasoning, grammar and majorly reading comprehension.

Hi Aishwarya,
Minimum cutoff is 90% for general category, OBC - 81%, SC - 75%, ST - 65%.
With 85-90% not possible for general category. Yes, it may be possible for SC - ST category students.
