Master of Business Administration (MBA) is one of the most popular postgraduate programmes around the world. MBA is a two-year post-graduate programme pursued after completing the undergraduate degrees. Management Aptitude Test, popularly known as MAT, is a national-level MBA entrance exam conducted by the All India Management Association (AIMA). There are around 1400 MAT accepting colleges in India.

MAT is conducted four times a year – February, May, September and December. After qualifying for the MAT exam, the students are eligible for admissions to B-schools accepting MAT scores. MAT exam is conducted in three modes, i.e. Paper Based Test (PBT), Computer Based Test (CBT) and Internet Based Test (IBT). 

MBA colleges accepting MAT score in India: Eligibility criteria

For seeking admission to any of the colleges accepting MAT score, candidates must fulfil the following eligibility criteria:

  • The candidate should have completed graduation in any discipline from a recognised university with a minimum aggregate of 50 per cent or equivalent CGPA. For reserved category students, the minimum aggregate percentage is 45.

  • Candidates who have completed a professional degree such as CA, CS or ICWA are also eligible to apply for the MAT exam.

  • Candidates appearing in the final year examination or awaiting results for bachelor's degrees can also apply for the MAT exam.

  • There is no upper age limit to apply for MAT exam.

  • Candidates with work experience or fresher can also apply for MAT exam.

Note: There is no limit on the number of attempts for taking the MAT exam.
