Here is the difference between CAT and CET Exam:
1. Every year approximately 48,000 students/applicants appear for CAT, while, close to 72,000 students appear for CET, as this exam is gaining more popularity since past few years.
2. As per the analysis, to seek an admission in reputed and renowned institutes accepting CAT scores like IIMs and SP Jain, one has to score 4/10 (assuming 10 as total), whereas seeking an admission in one of the best institutes accepting CET scores like JBIMS, one has to score 9.5/10 (assuming 10 as total).
3. The CAT scores accepting colleges offer maximum Rs.30 lakhs annually and minimum Rs.10-15 lakhs annually, whereas the CET scores accepting colleges offer maximum Rs.17.5 lakhs and minimum of Rs.8 lakhs annually.
4. In CAT exam, there are 100 questions weighing 300 marks and the time frame is 170 minutes and the exam is divided in 2 sections, whereas In CET exam, there are 200 questions covering vast sections and time frame is 150 minutes with no sectional limits. Having sectional limits helps you plan your paper well.
5. In CAT exam, attempting 40 right questions leads the candidate achieving 97 percentile, whereas in CET exam, one has to attempt 150 right questions to get 99.99%. The cut-off for JBIMS is 99.87 percentile approx.
