Yes, it is advantageous to have work experience especially if you want to do MBA from IIM and abroad but it is not mandatory. I suggest that first, you finish your engineering with good percentage and then prepare for CAT for minimum 6 months and try to get 90 percentile or above. Then, apply and get admission in top B-school to pursue MBA in your chosen specialization.

Your chances are pretty good with CMAT AIR 3. CMAT cut off for admission to SIMSREE is 99.93(MMS) & 99.92(PGDBM).

You've a decent score in CMAT, but because your graduation scores are low I can't assure you that you'll be shortlisted, however do apply, interview process has 40% weigh, if you do well in the in you stand a fair chance.

Dear Debashish,
SPM was accepting CAT till last year. Only this year it has started with XAT. So it is really difficult to predict for XAT.
Hope this helps.

You can look for CMAT and MAT, as it is conducted multiple times. Apart from this, check for NMAT and GMAT also. GMAT is the costlier one but, institute like ISB Hyderabad accepts GMAT.
