Detailed guidelines will be mentioned in the XAT admit card. Here are a few general guidelines for you to know:
- Candidates are supposed to be at the centre at least an hour before the commencement of exam. Reach the XAT exam centre at the reporting time mentioned on the admit card.
- Affix your recent passport size photo in colour with preferable white background on the admit card.
- Do not carry electronic items, valuables and bags to the exam centre. These items are prohibited.
- Carry two copies of the XAT admit card and the original copy of a valid ID proof such as Aadhaar card, Voter ID card, Passport, PAN card, Driving License or Universit

At the examination centre, candidates will have to undergo identification process which will include frisking and examination of documents. Along with the two original copies of the XAT admit card with passport size photo affixed, candidates must carry any one of the following photo IDs:
- Aadhaar Card
- E-Aadhaar card
- Voter ID card
- Passport
- ·Driving License
- University ID card

XAT application form filling process includes three steps – online registration, application form filling and payment of fees. Candidates have to complete all these three steps before the deadline to be eligible for appearing in the XAT exam. Check below a brief description of how to fill the XAT application form.

Candidates have to option to select two cities for allotment of XAT exam centre. The exam is held in 79 cities across India and you can choose any two cities as per your choice. While selecting the test cities for exam centre allotment, candidates must note the following:
- Select your home city or the city of your current residence as your first city of preference.
- Select the second city of preference as the one to which you can easily make arrangement of travel and stay in case you are allotted a centre there.
- The exam authorities strive to allot the exam centre in the city of first preference.

Similar to other top NMA entrance exams, NMAT exam also comprises three sections. These three sections have equal weightage in terms of maximum marks, number of questions, and a similar marking scheme. NMAT exam sections include the following:
- Language Skills
- Lgical reasoning
- Quantitative Skills.
Candidates need to answer questions from all three sections of the NMAT exam. Each section of the NMAT exam has a time limit collectively making the NMAT exam duration as 120 minutes.

Yes, all questions of NMAT exam have a similar marking scheme. NMAT exam score is scaled between 36 and 360. There is no negative marking in NMAT exam.
