According to AICTE (Ministry of HRD), PGDM B-schools have option to accept any of the 6 national tests: CAT XAT CMAT MAT ATMA or GMAT. Many colleges that are not within Top 100 B-schools offer direct MBA Admission without entrance exam to complete their seats quota.

Management Aptitude Test MAT is conducted multiple times in a year and is conducted by AIMA. Common Admission Test CAT is conducted only once in a year by any IIM. To get into IIM you must attend CAT and should get a good percentile
MAT will help you to apply for private colleges but not for IIMs and other premium institutes.

No, but many good B-schools have their own online entrance test. You can take test online. AICTE, UGC have allowed colleges to take admission on the basis of graduation marks. You can also use your previous test score, if valid till date. Best wishes.

Hello Pooja Amarnath,
Yes, you need to complete your graduation first to appear for CAT exam. It's good that you have planned in advance. Just start preparing for CAT from your second year at B.Com. Effective preparation will pave way for a great percentile and of course will fulfill your dream. Check out Thiagarajar School of Management, Madurai too. It's a renowned B-School in South India with great campus, vibrant faculty team and excellent placements. Feel free to approach me for more information. All the best !!
