The medicine sector offers the widest range of opportunities for well-qualified individuals. MBBS is an extremely dynamic field in the medical sector. Jobs are available in both public and private hospitals. A person can apply for jobs in government medical institutes and even in several private hospitals. Doctors can also start practicing on their own after getting themselves licensed and registered by the Medical Council of India.
Specialization in different sub-categories has offered ample opportunities in General Medicines, General Surgery, ENT, Forensic Medicine, Microbiology, Pharmacology, Obstetrics, Radiotherapy, Orthopaedics, Radiodiagnosis, Gynaecology, Physiology, Ophthalmology, Anatomy, Anaesthesia, Paediatrics and several others.
On the other hand, the scope of neuroscience is vast-ranging from the most basic cellular-level research to translational medicine and many unanswered questions remain. Interesting niche areas have emerged in neuroscience research such as neuroeconomics, neuromarketing, and neural networks. Together, these factors make neuroscience one of the more exciting and opportunity-laden fields in which to pursue a scientific career. So, it boils down to your choice, which one you have interest in.

AFMC has reservation is only for SC/ST category candidates. Ten seats out of 130 are reserved for SC/ST candidates. The following procedure is followed for admission of SC/ST candidates against the reserved seats subject to fulfilling the following criteria: -
(a) The SC/ST candidates must have applied to AFMC Pune and also qualified in the NEET7 written examination and should have come within the zone to be called up for interview.
(b) If shortlisted and called for the screening at AFMC, they must come within the first 500 in the final combined merit list of boys and girls.
(c) They must fulfill all other conditions/standards, as applicable to non-SC/ST candidates, like age eligibility, academic qualification, medical fitness, etc.
(d) These reserved seats are in addition to any vacancies secured by SC/ST candidates on the basis of their position in the merit lists.
(e) In case of any SC/ST girl/boy, admitted against reserved vacancies the number of girls/boys to be admitted against the general seats is reduced correspondingly.
(f) All such candidates have to sign a surety bond on the same lines and on the same conditions as non-SC/ST candidates.
