The CMAT is mandatory to give only if you're interested to take admission in a management college anywhere in India. It's not used for MCA admissions.

The candidates should have passed Bachelor's Degree of minimum 3-years duration with minimum 50% marks (45% in the case of SC/ ST category) in any discipline with Mathematics/ Statistics as one of the subjects at 10+2 level from any recognized University.

BCA Degree of minimum 3 years duration with minimum 50% marks (45% in the case of SC/ ST category) from any recognized University.

You have taken a gap in your studies primarily because you could not afford it financially. You have every right to do this. You have solid reasons for explaining gaps in your studies. With such good and solid reasons, no company will prevent you from appearing in campus interview. So just do nit worry.
