The overall cost of NID Ahmedabad is INR 13.18 lakh. The MDes fees might include mutiple other fee components that must be paid during admission. Admission to MDes is based on NID Design Aptitude Test (DAT). Therefore, candidates must register for the exam and pay the NIT DAT application fee. The application fee is tabulated below:

The overall criteria for MDes in NID Ahmedabad is four-year Bachelor degree in any specialisations from any recognised university or institution. NID Ahmedabad offers MDes programme at the postgraduate level that lasts for two and a half years. Selection is based on NID entrance exams. MDes is offered in different disciplines across all three campuses in the following departments: Faculty of Communication Design, Faculty of Industrial Design, Faculty of Interdisciplinary Design, Faculty of IT Integrated Design, and Faculty of Textile, Apparel, Lifestyle and Accessory Design.

DAT is a national-level exam conducted by NID in two stages, prelims and mains. Candidates who are shortlisted from the DAT will be invited to the DAT at NID Jorhat. There is no limit to the number of times a candidate can attempt the DAT.

For NID Ahmedabad MDes admission, candidates need to appear for Design Aptitude Test. It is a national-level exam. The exam is conducted in two stages, DAT Prelims and DAT Mains. Candidates need DAT Prelims to appear for DAT Mains. The final admission offers are made based on candidate's performance in both stages.

The NID Gandhinagar and NID Ahmedabad are in one state, they both are managed by the same government of India. The IIRF rank of NID Gandhinagar is 17 and IIRF rank of NID Ahmedabad is 1. You can get the similarities in infrastructure and extracurricular activities likes fest, events, and expos .

So, overall you might find some similarities between them, but NID Ahmedabad is top.

The NID Ahmedabad has higher IIRF rank than NID Gandhinagar and it has higher package, placement, and internship.

The NID Gandhinagar placements are lower than the NID Ahmedabad in most cases as the top most MNC's prefer the institute with higher rank.
