Yes. NIFT is a statutory institute under the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India. It is not affiliated to another university but awards its own degrees under the NIFT Act.

The tuition fee for BFTech courses at NIFT Hyderabad ranges from INR 6.1 Lacs to INR 12.3 lakh, and the tuition fee for BFTech at NIFT Kolkata ranges from INR 5.5 Lacs to INR 12.3 lakh. Yes, NIFT Kolkata does offer admission to foreign students. NRI students are shortlisted based on their GMAT/ GRE/ SAT scores among other parameters. The institute reserves 5 seats for students applying via NRI/ foreign national category. Students must satisfy the eligibility to get into the institute. The basic eligibility requires candidates to have a Degree/ Certificate from a recognised board/ university and an equivalence certificate obtained from AIU, New Delhi. Additionallym candidates possess working knowledge of English Language. Interested candidates can visit the official website of the institute to know further.

Yes, NIFT Kolkata does offer lateral entry for BFTech programme. The institute provides the course in Apparel Production and it costs about INR 5.45 lakh. Students must appear and clear the NIFT Lateral Entry Admission test (NLEA) to be eligible for admission.
