Yes, NIFT Kolkata BFTech admission is based on entrance exam score. The institute shortlists students on the basis of score secured by them in the NIFT Entrance Exam General Ability Test (GAT) section. Students who have passed Class 12 or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics from a recognised board are eligible to apply for the course. To get into NIFT Kolkata, General AI category students need a rank ranging between 162 and 3060 for admission to any of the available courses, namely, BDes course branches, BFTech and MFM. According to the NIFT Kolkata last round cutoff, the most competitive course for enrolment was the MFM course, with a closing rank of 365. This same course had the first round closing rank of 162
