NIFT Kolkata cutoff 2025 was published for admission to the various design courses for all categories under the All India quota. For the OBC AI category, the overall cutoff ranged from 704 to 5950. Among the last round, the hardest course for admission was the MFM course, with the last round closing rank of 838.  NIFT Kolkata MFM Cutoff 2025 was released for admission for multiple categories in both the All India and Home State quota.

A rank of 2000 can get you admission at NIFT Kolkata depending on the category you belong to. For the General AI category, admissions were capped at a rank of 3060. Students can refer to the table below to know the last round cutoff for the courses who had a rank above 2K. 

Please note that other categories, quotas, etc., will have different cutoffs accordingly.

There will be three rounds of counselling in NIFT Counselling 2026. One round of spot counselling is also expected if there are seats left.

NIFT Kolkata BDes admission is competitive as cutoffs vary by specialisation, category, and campus. Ranks will extend to several thousand for some programmes. This shows a strong demand for design seats across NIFT campuses.

There are many opportunities in fashion design, textile and accessory design, product development, and creative industries. BDes students can get jobs in fashion houses, retail brands, and design studios across India.

Admission to NIFT Kolkata BDes is based on performance in NIFT Entrance Exam. This includes the Creative Ability Test (CAT) and General Ability Test (GAT). After this, there will be a Situation Test, interview, and document verification for final selection.

The companies can register for campus placements at NIFT Kolkata. The schedule of which is given. Upon given a confirmed time and date, they may choose Online or On-Campus placement for further going through the placement procedure.

Around 70% students secured internships in recent years. The roles offered range from accessory designer to product developer and merchandiser. The NIFT Kolkata internships were offered in companies like Tommy Hilfiger, Louis Vuitton, Michael Kors, etc.
