NIT Rourkela is an institute of national importance. The institute offers various programs related to science, technology and management at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
The institute provides impressive placement. The highest package for 2024 went as high as INR 120 LPA and the lowest was INR 13.40 LPA.

The candidate must at least score a minimum of 50% marks in their examination. NIT Rourkela offers admission after considering the 12th exam results, JEE Main score. A merit list shall be made category-wise, listing the All India Rank (AIR) of candidates which is used for the Counselling process.
To get admission in NITs, candidates must have a good percentile to get their desired institution and specialization. Generally, candidates should having a percentile between 85 to 95 for getting NIT seats.

NIT Rourkela's admission is highly competitive in nature. With 95 percentile and a ST rank of 46 in JEE Paper 2, you have a fair chance of getting B.Arch at NIT Rourkela but the cutoff varies every year and there may be some possibility of varaiation.

The fees for MTech at NIT Andhra Pradesh is lesser than the tuition fees for MTech at NIT Rourkela. However, the fee structure can be only one component that candidates consider while comparing IIITs and NITs but several factors can be taken into account while choosing the best college, such as placement packages, seats, ranking of that particular institute, affiliation, accreditation, etc.

To be eligible for the B.Tech in Biotechnology programme at NIT Rourkela, you must have a minimum of 75% aggregate in your Class 12 exams:
Candidates from reserved categories must have a minimum of 65% aggregate
Candidates must also be in the top 20 percentile in Class 12
The selection criteria for the B.Tech programme at NIT Rourkela is JEE Main and JoSAA Counselling.

NIT Durgapur and NIT Rourkela offer a full-time Integrated BSc + MSc in Chemistry. If a candidate manages to clear the cut-off for both the mentioned NITs, they must compare their rankings, students reviews & ratings, placement data, etc. and choose the one that suits their preference. If we compare the MBA seats offered by NIT Hamirpur, NIT Rourkela and NIT Kurukshetra we will find that NIT Hamirpur offers the least amount of seats in the MBA programme out of the three institutes. NIT Hamirpur offers 40 seats while NIT Kurukshetra and NIT Rourkela offer 53 and 75 seats, respectively.
It is important to note that, although NIT Rourkela offers the most amount of MBA seats, the institute has a higher tuition fee than the other two colleges.

If we compare the tuition fees of NIT Hamirpur, NIT Kurukshetra and NIT Rourkela we will see that NIT Hamirpur and NIT Kurukshetra are the most affordable. They have similar total tuition fees of INR 1.4 Lacs for an MBA. Whereas, NIT Rourkela total tuition fee is INR 4 lakh.
Having said that, NIT Rourkela offers the most amount of MBA seats out of the three NITs, as it offers 75 seats compared to 40 and 53 seats for NIT Hamirpur and NIT Kurukshetra, respectively.
