NBE or the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS), the NEET MDS exam conducting authority, releases the cutoff scores or the qualifying scores along with the result. The NEET MDS 2025 result was released on May 15, 2025. The NEET MDS 2025 cutoff was also released on the same date. However, on August 14, 2025, NBE released a notice stating the reduction of the NEET MDS 2025 cutoff percentile by 19.863 percentile for all categories, as per the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare recommendation.

NEET MDS Round 3 Seat Allotment Result was the concluding round for admission to the MDS courses. As per the SRM University MDS cutoff 2024, the NEET MDS closing ranks varied between 4029 and 5729 for the students belonging to the General AI quota. So, yes, a student with a NEET MDS rank of 5000 can get admission to Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. However, the students have to wait until the last round, as the cutoff ranks might be more competitive in the initial rounds. Tabulated below is the NEET MDS round-wise cutoff rank for MDS in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery for the General AI quota:

Round NEET MDS Cutoff 2024 (General AI Quota)
14029

There is a possibility. The cut off is reduced if seats remain vacant for allotment. Last year also cut off was reduced for each category after students demanded so as many of seats were vacant. The cut off was reduced for each category. For general category, cut off was reduced from 263 to 174. Candidates have to score the minimum cut off to qualify for the exam. The cut off was released along with NEET MS 2023 result on March 10.
