The candidate who has secured at least 55%marks in their master's degree is eligible for the test. For (Sc/OBC/ST/PWD) at least 50% in their Master's degree are eligible.

If you did not completed your post-graduation and are in the last year, then you can apply for the UGC NET exam in result awaited category. The minimum eligibility for the UGC NET exam is Master's degree from the recognized university with 55% marks. Distance learning candidates also can apply

The SET and NET exam are conducted to determine the eligibility for assistant professor and junior research fellowship award. The SET is state level while the NET is the national level exam.
