NIT Nagaland recorded the highest placement in the Engineering sector. Apart from this, NIT Nagaland has students placed in the sector of Education, Information Technology, Business Development, Research, Administrative etc. Majority of the students within these records are known to study Electrical, Electronics and Communication Engineering. NIT Nagaland organises various events that are technically advanced or cultural in nature. These events also takes care of cultural inclusivity and the diverse nature of the curriculum. The overall vibe of NIT Nagaland is somewhere around relaxed and competitive. Events such as fresher'day, farewells, fests etc. are a part of the Institute curriculum that occurs every year. It holds the prestige of National Institute of Technology and approval among 10 newly launched NITs. National Institute of Technology Nagaland was established in year 2010 as one of the 10 newly approved NITs by the Government of India in 2009. The Institute operated for initial 2 years from the campus of NIT Silchar and held its first academic session from the permanent campus of NIT Nagaland in January 2012. NIT Nagaland does not have any branch, however, it is a part of National Institute of Technology which has gained recognition in the name of 'National Importance'.

No, you can not apply for NIT Nagaland as a distance education student as the institute does not offer any of its courses through distance mode. The undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral rogrammes offered at the institute are all provided through regular mode. Hence, one can not apply for the programmes as a distance education students. Students can however, check out various other colleges and insitutes offering the same. NIT Nagaland admission process is entirely entrance-based. Candidates who obtain a valid score as per the course's requirements in the respective entrance exam will have to register and appear for the counselling process conducted by specific counselling bodies. To apply for the courses offered at NIT Nagaland, students must fulfil the admission criteria for the desired course. Thr application process for each of the course differs slightly. Candidates seeking BTech, MTech, MSc admission must visit the official website of the accepted entrance exam; JEE Main, GATE, and IIT JAM respectively to firstly register themselves. Following the entrance test, students must register for the counselling counducted by the concerened authority.
