The students who are a part of the sports and athletics teams at Northeastern University are called to be the Huskies. They have competed in 13 varsity team sports in activities such as Hockey, Baseball, Basketball, Volleyball, Swimming, Soccer, and Cross Country.  

Northeastern University is known to be a part of the Division I athletic teams as well as their club and intramural sports. The university has more than 19 Division I athletic teams in the Boston campus. Other than this, Northeastern includes over 25 intramural and 64 club teams for students in their Boston, Oakland and London campuses.
