The first thing to understand here is that online and distance M.Tech courses are considered invalid in India as per the recent AICTE and UGC guidelines. This is because engineering is a field that needs practical training and lab work along with theory classes, which is not possible in the virtual mode. So, recruiters also give more importance to students with regular, offline M.Tech degrees.
Having said that, there is an option of AICTE accredited online M.Tech for Working Professionals offered by a few popular colleges like BITS Pilani and IIT Hyderabad that is meant for people to enhance their technical skills and learn more besides

The clear answer is no. An online M.Tech degree is considered invalid in India. It is not approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and UGC because of a variety of reasons. One important reason is zero practical exposure. Technical programs like M.Tech are meant for the professional world which demands technical expertise and advanced skills which is not completely possible in the online mode. Secondly, there is no lab assistance possible in online M.Tech programs, making it less valuable than regular face-to-face M.Tech programs.
But, working professionals can surely opt for these to hone their skills and learn

RGPV M.Tech admission is subject to fulfilment of a specified set of admission criteria. According to the eligibility criteria, the minimum marks required in graduation ranges between 50% and 60%. Admissions to the programme are entrance-based. Hence not only should a candidate secure the minimum marks in Graduation, they are also required to have a valid score in the accepted entrance exams. RGPV accepts the score obtained by the students in various national and state-level entrance tests such as, GATE, MPPET, etc. In case a candidate does not get a seat at the institute, they can go for other colleges offering the course. This programme is specially made for Industry professional who are currently employed.
It is available in Micro Electronics and VLSI system for current academic year.
At first you have to qualify GATE exam.
The latest cutoff for this programme is 778 (It can vary year to year).
So you have to get 770-780 marks in GATE exam.
Here are three programme
1 . M.Tech(TA) Programme - 2 years (TA - Teaching Assistantship)
2 . M.Tech(RA) programme - 3 years(RA - Research Assistantship)
3 . M.Tech(Self Sponsored) - 2 year (GATE qualification is not mandatory).

Application forms for M.Tech programmes in all categories of admission will be available soon. Students can opt for both online and offline application modes. Students can check the online application procedure from the points, mentioned below:
- Log on to JUIT Solan official website, admissions, and click on the Apply online link of the related programme.
- Thereafter, follow the on-screen prompts to fill up the application form and make the payment through Credit Card / Debit Card / Net Banking / UPI.
- Once the payment has been successfully made, the candidate shall be allotted an Application ID, which must be preserved for future reference.

At IIIT Guwahati, It will be calculated based on charge per credit. Which is 3500 rs per credit. For 1st semester there are 30 credits i.e. 105000 INR. Having a valid GATE score is one of the requirements for enrollment in the M.Tech. programme. Working individuals may enroll in the online M.Tech. programme in Computer Science and Engineering offered by IIIT Guwahati.
