The total tuition fee ranges between INR 36,800 - INR 96,000. It must be noted that this fee is mentioned as per the data available from unofficial sources and hence is subject to change. Candidates can visit the PTU website or the admission office for any queries. Moreover, the total fee at the time of admission can be higher considering other fee elements are also added to it.

Both of the universities are renowned for Engineering courses in the state. IKGPTU offer more BTech courses in comparison to Punjab University (PU). As per the unofficial sources, PTU offers 511 BTech programmes through its constituent and affiliated colleges, while PU offers 32 courses. Candidates are required to submit important documents at the time of admission/form filling. These documents are required for verification purposes. The documents required at the time of PTU course admissions are:
- Class 10 and 12 marksheet
- Bachelor’s degree (for PG courses)
- School leaving certificate/ transfer certificate/migration certificate
- Two-colored photographs
- Domicile/ Birth certificate
- Caste validity certificate/ ‘H’ Proforma, etc.

Panjab University cutoff for MBA course is based on CAT scores. Candidates who wish to apply for Panjab University admissions to MBA course, must have a valid scores in CAT exam. Candidates must also meet the overall as well as the sectional CAT cutoff. Going as per the past year trends, the overall Panjab University MBA cutoff has been consistent at 85 percentile, whereas for sectional cutoff it is 50 percentile each for General category students. Chandigarh University offers MBA and MBA Human Resource through UBS Chandigarh. For MBA HR, candidates must have 85 percentile each for overall as well as sectional cutoffs.
