Panjab University

Panjab University offers two-year MBA programmes across four specialisations via the University Business School and across seven specialisations via the University Institute of Applied Management Sciences. Other than these,  Dr. S. Bhatnagar University Institute of Chemical Engineering and Technology offers an Integrated BE (Chemical) - MBA to the students. Admission to all MBA courses is entrance-based at all these institutes. While for Integrated MBA, students need a valid score in JEE Main exam, admission to UBS and UIAMS is subject to a valid score in CAT and PU MET exams, respectively.

Panjab University, Chandigarh offers its four-yeart BTech programme via four affiliated colleges. Admission to BE at Panjab University is subject to a valid score in JEE Main exam, followed by JAC Chandigarh Counselling. All the affiliated colleges of Panjab University offering BTech are part of JAC Chandigarh counselling. An institute-wise seat intake for BTech is as follows:

For the academic year 2023-24, the process started in the month of July and ended in the month of August. The same can stand true for admission 2024-25 if the university and the JAC Chandigarh counselling body follows the similar admission cycle. Any changes in the dates and the updated schedule for 2024 will be updated here once out. 

No,  JEE Main 2024 dates for admission to PUCHD and other JEE accepting colleges are not out yet. It is expected that JEE Main 2024 notification will be released in the first week of December. NTA will conduct the JEE Main 2024 exam in two sessions in January and April. The exact date of the exam for both sessions will be announced in the notification. The overall the highest package offered during Panjab University BTech CSE placements 2023 is not released. However, the highest package (On-Campus) offered during Panjab University UIET (BTech / MTech) placements 2023 and 2022 stood at INR 45 LPA. Apart from this, the average package offered during Panjab University UIET placements 2023 and 2022 stood at INR 8.89 LPA and INR 7.69 LPA, respectively.

Panjab University offers admissions into PhD programme to students after they have appeared for entrance exam. However, the university does provide exemptions on the basis of the following:

• Candidates who have already cleared any of the national tests, such as UGC-CSIR NET including JRF, SLET, GATE
• Any prestigious test of national-level scholarship/ fellowship conducted at all India levels on behalf of the national institution (s), for example, GPAT, and JEST
• Direct awardees of fellowship for pursuing PhD
• Those working as permanent teachers at Panjab University and affiliated colleges are also exempted from the entrance test.

For admission to PhD for the academic year 2023, the application forms are not out yet. However, the application forms and notification for PhD admission 2022 were out on PUCHD's official website on September 15, 2022 and the last date to apply for the same was October 30. For the academic year, there are no updates yet available on this year's schedule. However, students must stay tuned for more details on the admission timeline. 

As per the internet, BA at PU is offered across Economics, History, Sociology and Psychology specialisation, among others. However, students must select the specialisation on the basis of their interest and past academic background and not on the basis of its popularity. While all these specialisations are offered at PU-affiliated colleges, students can pursue BA (Hons) and BA (Hons) in Economics courses from the main campus of Panjab University. Check out all BA specialisations at PUCHD here.
