No, MLT graduates become doctors.

while a degree in Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) provides a strong foundation in medical science and diagnostics, it does not qualify one to become a doctor.

However, an MLT graduate can pursue further education to transition into a medical career if they really wish to become a doctor.

For instance, they could enrol in MBBS, which is the standard pathway to becoming a doctor in India. This requires meeting the necessary prerequisites and passing entrance exams like NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test).

No, pursuing a degree in MLT does not require the NEET.

NEET is primarily used for admission into undergraduate medical courses such as MBBS and BDS. In contrast, admission to a BSc MLT program is generally based on Class 12 scores or CUET scores.

  • Candidates should have passed Class 12.
  • Candidates need to pass in major subjects at Class 12th, Physics, Mathematics/ Biology, and Chemistry.
  • The qualifying exams require a minimum of 50 per cent marks for the candidate.

Many universities and colleges offer lateral entry into the second year of the Bachelor's program for diploma holders. This pathway allows you to build on your existing knowledge and skills while obtaining a more advanced qualification. However, specific admission requirements and procedures may vary depending on the institution, so it's essential to check with the universities or colleges you're interested in for precise details on their eligibility criteria and application process
