Hello Ravi, Eligibility for Ph.D is that one should have completed PG in relevant subject. After this, many universities ask prospective researchers to clear eligibility exam. That's all.

To take admission in a Ph.D. course, the minimum qualification required is Masters degree with minimum 55% marks. If you fulfill the same then you can apply. You will be exempted from research eligibility test (RET)if qualified UGC NET in a subject you have done PG otherwise you need to appear for an entrance examination called RET. Few universities prefer candidates who is completed M. Hill.

Yes, you can go for Ph.D directly. As there is was a programme launched sometime before according to which for doing Ph.D, it is not mandatory to complete your Master's degree first.
