Hello Binu,
Many universities have different min marks in PG for Ph.D. You will have to check with your University another this aspect. If it's 50% then perhaps you can go for it.

yes after completing your MBA you can go for M.A. Economics and the eligiblity will be I think 60% with some work experience or may not.
MA Economics gives you a wide range of opportunities as you can be a professor in an University and much more.

Hello Ravi, Eligibility for Ph.D is that one should have completed PG in relevant subject. After this, many universities ask prospective researchers to clear eligibility exam. That's all.

To take admission in a Ph.D. course, the minimum qualification required is Masters degree with minimum 55% marks. If you fulfill the same then you can apply. You will be exempted from research eligibility test (RET)if qualified UGC NET in a subject you have done PG otherwise you need to appear for an entrance examination called RET. Few universities prefer candidates who is completed M. Hill.

Yes, you can go for Ph.D directly. As there is was a programme launched sometime before according to which for doing Ph.D, it is not mandatory to complete your Master's degree first. You can directly go for Ph.D just after your graduation. So, you can do Ph.D. after completing your B.Tech in biotechnology.
