Vikram University PhD admission is based on the marks scored in the entrance test conducted by the university, followed by an interview round. Students with a valid score in UGC NET/ JRF NET are exempted from appearing in the university entrance exam.

The candidates must have a professional qualification such as CA with a minimum of 50% marks. Or a Bachelor degree with at least 55% marks. Or BTech/BPharm with a minimum of 60% marks.

LNMU conducts PhD Admission Test (PAT) for accepting admission to the programme in September, every year. The exam consists of two papers of 100 marks each in both English and Hindi medium. The paper I of PAT consists of MCQs on quantitative teaching and research aptitude whereas paper II comprises subjective type questions based on the syllabus of previous qualifying PG degree.

Lalit Narayan Mithila University conducts PAT for accepting admission to the programme in September, every year. However, candidates with a valid UGC NET/ CSIR NET/ GATE score or teachers of LNMU and its affiliated colleges or non-teaching employees of LNMU with over five years of working experience are exempted from PAT and are granted direct admission provided that they fulfil the PhD eligibility criteria.
