Candidates seeking admission to IIT Jammu for PhD must have completed a master's degree in Engineering/ Technology or a master's degree by research in Engineering/ Technology along with a good academic record. They must also have a qualifying GATE score to be eligible for the same. Students can go to the official website to apply and check if there were any changes in the last date of application.

The application fee per department is INR 300 for General/ Gen-EWS/ OBC category and INR 200 for SC/ ST/ PWD category candidates. This amount is completely non-refundable. Candidates can deposit the requisite application fee by using net banking or debit/credit card facilities. Additional charges are applicable as per the rule of the concerned bank. The fee is, however, not accepted through any other mode.

Candidates must have a master’s degree in a relevant discipline from a recognised university to be eligible for PhD at Patna University. The selection of candidates is done basis of their scores in PAT. Eligible candidates can apply online by visiting the official website.

Different entrance exams conducted for admission to Ph.D. in Engineering and Technology are GATE, SLET, TIFR GS, NET JRF etc. Universities that conduct entrance exams do not ask for a UGC NET certificate as a mandatory requirement. Ph.D. in specialized fields like engineering and technology requires a valid Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) mandatorily.
