The IRM is a globally recognised professional educational body with headquarters in the UK. According to the IRM Level 1 Guidelines, the Level 1 exam is conducted four times a year on the last Sunday of February, May, August, and November. You do not need to select an exam center for IRM Level 1, as it is a proctored exam. This means you can take IRM Level 1 at your convenience at home. There will be proctoring software that will monitor your desktop, webcam, and audio during the exam. You will be asked to install this software, and you can give the Level 1 IRM test anywhere.

The syllabus of the newly proposed Indian Railway Management Service exam is as follows:
1. Since you will need to appear in the same paper as CSE Prelim, this stage's syllabus is similar to that of CSE Prelim.
2. The IRMS cutoff will differ from the CSE cutoff.
3. There will be four conventional essay-style papers on the main stage.
4. There are two qualifying papers for language.

The railway ministry recently proposed the Indian Railway Management Service exam. The prelim will be conducted along with the UPSC CSE prelim. As you must appear in the same paper as CSE Prelim, this stage's syllabus is similar to that of CSE Prelim; however, the cutoff for IRMS will be different.
