The syllabus of the newly proposed Indian Railway Management Service exam is as follows:
1. Since you will need to appear in the same paper as CSE Prelim, this stage's syllabus is similar to that of CSE Prelim.
2. The IRMS cutoff will differ from the CSE cutoff.
3. There will be four conventional essay-style papers on the main stage.
4. There are two qualifying papers for language.
5. The first is the Indian language selected by you from the available languages in the options; its syllabus will be at the 10th grade level. For instance, if you select Bengali, you will be asked questions about 10th-level basic grammar.
6. The syllabus of the English-language paper will be similar to the UPSC's compulsory English paper, I. e. , at the 10-level.
7. The merit list will be based on two optional papers. Only the following subjects are available to you as optional subjects:
a. Electrical Engineering
b. Mechanical Engineering
c. Civil Engineering
d. Commerce and accounting
The syllabus of these papers will be similar to the UPSC CSE optional papers.

The IRMS exam has been announced by the ministry of railways. This exam will be held in India beginning in 2023 to recruit railway management officers. The IRMS exam will be conducted by UPSC in line with the CSE exam. According to the official notification released by the ministry, IRMS will conduct a two-tier examination. The first stage will be the preliminary stage, and the second stage will be the main stage. The shortlisted candidates will be called for a personality test. The IRMS officers used to be selected through the UPSC CSE exam earlier. According to the most recent announcement, only the prelims will be the same, but the Mains will be held separately. Also, only engineering graduates, commerce graduates, and CAs can apply for this exam.

The Indian Railway Management Service (IRMS) exam will be conducted for the first time in 2023. The exam pattern for the IRMS exam is as follows:
1. There are three stages in total.
2. The first stage is the prelims, which will be conducted along with the CSE prelims.
3. This stage has two objective papers.
4. The main stage is comprised of four written papers.

1. This exam will be conducted from 2023 onwards.
2. The prelims for this exam will be conducted along with the CSE prelims.
3. After the announcement of the CSE cutoff, the IRMS cutoff will be announced separately.
4. The second stage is the Mains, which consists of four papers.
5. Out of these four, two are qualifying papers and two optional papers, which will account for merit.

9. Finally, a personality test will be conducted with 100 marks.
10. The UPSC will publish a list of shortlisted candidates who will be called for training by the Ministry.
