For engineers, the Indian Railway offers two services. The first is the prestigious group, the Central Engineering Services (IES). The second one is junior engineer (JE) services. There are two positions for electrical engineers to apply for.
(a) First, you can apply for the Indian Engineering Services Exam conducted by UPSC. When completing the application, you must select the "Electrical Engineer" branch. The CBT 2 comprises subjects such as mathematics, general intelligence and reasoning, general Science and engineering, general awareness and Current Affairs. That is a splendid profile for good colleges. It is very hard for Iims to reject the 9-9 profiles (90% in 10th 90%in 12th). Adding to that is your work ex which is a major profile decider. Also, you have a decent score in CAT so you can expect good calls.

After completion of B.Sc. You can apply for Railway exam through SCRA (Special Class Railway Apprentice) conducted by UPSC every year to join as technical officers in the Mechanical Department of Indian Railway. Further more, the posts you can apply are:
Station Master
Assistant Station master
Signal Controller
Railway Police Inspector
For this, you need to apply for RRB exam. The age 18-28 is mandatory and the percent score 60% for open and 55% for SC/ST is needed.
