In the RRB JE CBT 1, in total 100 questions will be asked. Marks awarded is 100 and candidates need to complete the exam in 90 minutes. There is a negative marking, one third marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.

On the other hand in the RRB JE CBT 2, total number of questions asked will be 150 and total marks aswared also 150. The duration of an exam is 120 minutes.

The RRB JE 2025 application link was activated online on October 31, 2025 at rrbapply.gov.in. The last date to apply is November 30, 2025.

As per the short notice released, the RRB JE 2025 application process started from October 31 to November 30, 2025 for the posts of Junior Engineer, Depot Material Superintendent (DMS), Chemical & Metallurgical Assistant and other Posts. Vacancy announced are 2569.

The minimum qualifying marks in the RRB JE exam vary as per the categories. For General Category it is 40%, for SC/OBC it is 30%, and for ST it is 25%. 

General/EWS: 60 marks out of 150
SC/OBC: 45 marks out of 150
ST: 37.5 marks out of 150

The RRB JE CBT 1 is the first stage of the examination, which is also known as Computer Based Test 1. CBT 1 is the first stage of the selection process. It is also a qualifying exam because the marks will not be included in the final merit list. The CBT 1 exam comprises the subjects of Mathematics, General Awareness, General Science and General Intelligence & Reasoning.

Whether the RRB JE exam can be tough or not depends upon the preparation of the candidate. Also, it is possible to succeed in the exam. The difficulty level of the exam varies based on the candidates' preparation level and knowledge of the subject. The technical section can be challenging to the candidates. Candidates should remain focused, work hard, follow smart strategies, etc.
