Both are in smart category.
AIMS-Bangalore is slightly better option in comparison to M. S. Ramaiah College. No idea about placing of MS Ramaiah, but AIMS average salary in between INR 5 lacs - INR 6 lacs.

Hello Elangwe,
The best is to do Ph.D from the same university as from which you have done PG. These days, all universities conduct a screening exam to select students who can register for Ph.D. Next step is to get a guide for your subject. The last step is to select research topic with the help from guide and get yourself registered.
That's all.

Dear Krishna,
If you are asking from your college course structure point of view, the relevant books will be available in your Library. However, for more knowledge you can refer some bestselling books of all time like:
(#) The Brief History of Time; by Stephen Hawking.(#) The Hyperspace: Parallel Universe; by Miciko Kaku.
These two books are the best. Just go through that. For more books, you can go for Google play Books. Hope, this helps. Good Luck.
