The study certificate document is a proof that the candidate having studied and passed in one or more Government or Government recognised educational institutions. The institute should be located in the State of Karnataka and student should have studied for a minimum period of 7 academic years commencing from class 1 to class 12 as on 1st July of the year in which the Entrance Test is held. They must have appeared and passed either class 10.

Candidates should have passed class 12 with physics, mathematics as compulsory subjects and chemistry/biotechnology/ computer/ electronics/ biology any one as an optional subject with 45% aggregate marks for general category students and 40% aggregate marks for reserved category students.

Candidates who wish to take admission in the various BE/BTech courses at SDM- Institute of Technology can appear for COMEDK or K-CET exam and admissions are based on the rank obtained in these exams. However, Students can also take admissions on merit-basis through the management quota.
