There is a huge difference in both the exams. UPSC is conducted by Union Public Service Commission for Grade A officer post and SSC is conducted by Staff Service Commission for Grade B post in central government. The competition is high in UPSC because approximately only 800 -850 posts are there and in SSC only 4500-5000 posts.

The focus should be on the subjects such as quantitative aptitude, English, general studies and reasoning. For scoring higher marks in Tier I, regular practice of mock/ previous year question papers is a must. For Quantitative aptitude, concentrate on areas which have been constantly asked in the examination such as SI/CI, Percentage, Ratio & Proportion, etc.

SSC CGL is open to applicants from all streams. Since 'best' vary with individuals, you have to know your own aptitude and interests and decide which one of the above programs you mentioned would be best for you. You can also check the various posts available and specific criteria and choose the stream accordingly. For example if you want to become a Assistant Audit Officer then B.Com and MBA is recommended.
