The syllabus of UPSI and SSC CGL is almost 70% same. Keep doing SSC CGL coaching to prepare for UPSI. It won't make a big difference. However, UPSI has two more topics that are not covered in SSC coaching, Hindi and UP GK. For these two, you can join another coaching for one hour.

The cut-off is usually at near 150. It changes each year depending on the number of candidates applied.

1. Type of Work
2. Amount of work
3. Salary and benefits
4. Promotions
5. Posting
6. Transfers
7. Desk/Field job
8. Department
You have to fill total 30 different post in order of your preference at the time of filling up of SSC CGL 2018 Application Form. Here is the list of all the SSC CGL 2018 posts along with SSC CGL Post Descriptions and Preference Order, Grade Pay, Posting, Nature of work & Career Path.

Both are very different from each other.
If you want to do PG, then you can go for IIT JAM. After that, you can get a good placement, if you work hard.
Otherwise, SSC is a good option, SSC is a very reputed government exam.
Choose what you have interest in.

I don't have much idea about SSC CGL apart from what I see on Google (Staff Selection Commission - Combined Graduate Level examination, often referred to as SSC CGL is an examination conducted to recruit staff to various posts in ministries, departments and organisations of the Government of India).
But first, you'll have to decide which way you want to go.
