Yes, students can defer their admission at ASU for up to 1 year (two consecutive semesters). Students can apply for UG programme deferral at least 2 weeks before the start of first day of classes in the original semester.
For PG courses, students need to submit a Request Change Form either online or physically on-campus.
Note: Deferrring allows a later start at ASU but it does not gurantee entry to the same programme or major.

No, the University of Michigan is generally not considered a global top 10 university.
Without a doubt, it is a well-known university but as per the US News and World Report, under the Global Universities rankings 2025, this university ranked #21.
Under National University, this ranking is #20. So, it is more of a 'top-50 university' and not a top 10.

No, applying in Early Decision does not negatively affect an Indian student's chances to receive the New York Scholarships.
Opposite to it, applying early and showing strong interest can actually make you a better candidate to these financial aids.

Yes, it is always a good idea to apply via the Early Decision rather than the Regular one. It is because the students see a higher acceptance rate then.
For the Regular Decision, the acceptance rate is barely 3% and this is much higher for ED deadlines.
The upcoming admission deadline for Indian students at NYU UAE is Nov 1, 2026, for its UG courses (ED 1) and for the same, the decision will be released by Dec 15, 2026.

NYUAD is much more selective than most of the Ivy League universities available out there. The typical Ivy League admit rate stays around 3% to 7%.
But, for NYU Abu Dhabi, it stays below 3%. For the class of 2029, the New York University UAE acceptance rate stands at 2.9%.
