The official newspaper of UH is known as The Cougar. It is a student-run newspaper and has been established in 1934. The newspaper is one of the university's the oldest traditions. The Daily Cougar prints every Wednesday during the Spring and Fall semesters and online daily. Additionally, students produce Houstonian magazine (for graduating students), Cooglife (a monthly lifestyle magazine), and Transitions Magazine (student's insider guide at UH).

Yes, UH is safe and the UH Police Department strives to make students feel safe on campus by offering excellent police and security services. Additionally, there is an official emergency alert system of the university namely UH Alert which is used to provide prompt notification to students or staff in the event where there is a condition that may threaten the health and safety of those on-campus. Additionally, students can use the UH Go App to stay safe on-campus. The UH Go Emergency Call feature allows students to share their location so the police know exactly where a person is. Yes, there is an Indian Student Association at UH. It is a non-profit student organization. The main aim of ISA is to provide a platform to all students to experience, share, and spread the joy of the rich Indian cultural heritage, with pride and dignity. No, both exams are not easier than the other one. It only depends on the examinee's confidence and command over the English language. Also, it depends on the person's choice of examination. Pearson Test of English or PTE follows a scoring system done by AI, which is unbiased. Also, the test results are given within 48 hours of the examination. IELTS is conducted through human interaction, mainly in the speaking part of the examination. IELTS is the traditional way of testing your English language proficiency.
