To be eligible for IIIT Surat's BTech programme, a candidate must pass Class 12 from a recognised board with Mathematics and Physics as compulsory subjects and one out of Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology/ Technical Vocational as an optional subject with a minimum of 75% aggregate.

Aspirants must apply for JEE Main exam and appear for the same. Candidates with a valid JEE score are called for JoSAA counselling following which seat allotment is done. IIIT Surat inducts candidates for the BTech programme based on a valid rank in JEE-Main and the admission process is executed as per the guidelines established by Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA).

There is no such provision for direct admission to the BTech programme at IIIT Surat. IIIT Surat accepts admission for the BTech programme based on a valid rank in JEE-Main. Candidates aspiring to take admission to the BTech programme at IIIT Surat must take the JEE-Main exam conducted by NTA by filling out the its application form through JEE official website. Candidates having JEE-Main rank above the closing rank specified in the merit list released by the college can apply for the counselling process where they can fill their branch preferences followed by document verification and fee payment.

IIIT Surat's popular programme is BTech. The institute offersa full-time 4-year BTech course in 2 specialisations. The specialisations are Computer Science Engineering and Electronics & Communication Engineering. The total tuition fee for the BTech course is INR 6 lakh. Admission to the programme is based on the JEE Main exam, followed by counselling. Candidates also need to fulfil the eligibility criteria to be able to apply for the course. The criteria are that the candidate must have passed Class 12 with a minimum of 75% in Science stream.

The hostel fee at IIIT Surat is INR 86,000. The hostel fee includes hostel room rent, electricity charges, water charges, internet charges, maintenance, security, and mess charges. Hostel rooms are spacious, and each room can accommodate 3–5 students, depending on the size of the room. A mess facility is available in the hostel. The hostel is about 12 kilometers away from the institute campus.

IIIT Surat is designated as an Institution of National Importance. IIIT Surat offers good placement opportunities to its students. As per the official website, the highest and average packages offered to BTech (CSE) students during placements 2023 were INR 24.19 LPA and INR 14.21 LPA, respectively. The highest package and average package offered to BTech (ECE) students were INR 24 LPA and INR 9.87, respectively. IIIT Surat recognises the importance of global collaborations. Hence, the institute has signed various MoUs with Gujarat Narmada valley Fertilizer and Chemicals (GNFC), Gujarat Informatics Limited (GIL) and Gujarat Gas Limited.

No, MTech in Chemical Engineering (Structural Engineering) is not offered at IIIT Surat. IIIT Surat currently offers only two BTech programmes, namely Computer Science and Engineering and Electronics and Communication Engineering.
However, there are a number of other institutes in Surat that offer MTech in Chemical Engineering, including:
SVNIT Surat
Nirma University
DDU Gujarat University
Gujarat Technological University

Yes, IIIT Surat offers B.Tech degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering. Some criterias for pursuing the course are given below
75% marks in 12th board examination. Candidate must have passed class 12th or equivalent by the AIU or Intermediate or 2-year Pre-University exam conducted by a recognised Board/ University with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/ Technical Vocational subject.
