But you can apply for colleges based on your board marks or for their own entrance examinations. There are private universities having best infrastructure offering quality education. Computer science at Amrita is one of the best branches in terms of placement and research. Most of the faculties are PhD's from universities abroad and provide excellent career guidance and are confident of what they teach. I cannot compare two universities without studying in both. So I can't say what VIT is like. This year 2015-2016, the highest paid job on campus was bagged by a CSE student. The package of the same being 20.3 lacs p.a. I suppose that answers your question.

The college is good. The placement record is also good. You have to make a decision based on what other options you have.
