This college establishment in 1951 is affiliated to Anna University. As a result all admissions are now based on marks obtained in 12th exam. In addition the college has very high reputation and students prefer this to many other colleges. Due to this cutoffs is very high. But marks scored by students in class 12th show very wide variation and hence I am afraid it is not feasible to quite any figure. Ash! Comparison between SRM and Thapar? Thapar is very old establishment of Punjab and has quite good and unmatched reputation particularly in North India. On the other hand, SRM is comparatively new entrant in this field. However this institution has made its presence felt on all India bases and offers value for money.
