1. Graduate with minimum 50% marks.
2. 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education in accordance with NCTE (National Council for Teacher Education).
3. 1 year of Bachelor in Education (B.Ed) or 4 years of Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
4. Passed the CTET (Central Teaching Eligibility Test).5. Specialisation in your main subject (mathematics, physics, chemistry, economics, accounts, commerce, etc.).

Previously till July 2018, the National Eligibility Test was conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education. July 2018 Exam was conducted offline by CBSE. But in Dec 2018, the test was conducted by NTA (National Testing Agency). This was the first time when the UGC NET was fully Computer Based Test (CBT). The upcoming UGC NET Exam will be conducted in July 2019. The exam pattern will be the same as per the previous one. So, it will be conducted in online mode only. Important Note- UGC NET Exam Syllabus is revised for all the subjects. Candidates are advised to download the updated UGC NET Syllabus from the official website. I

Here is the eligibility criteria:
A candidate should have passed the Bachelor's Degree / Master's Degree of any recognized University, with at least 50% marks and should have offered at least one school subject at graduation level as a principal or subsidiary or allied or an optional subject.
If you fulfil this criterion, you are eligible.
