Eligibility for admission:-
A pass in the graduate degree examination under the 10+2+3 or 11+1+3 pattern with main subject in Part III, namely Tamil (B.A., B.Lit), English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Computer Science, Applied Physics, Applied Chemistry, Bio-chemistry, Environmental Science, Micro-Biology, History and Geography.
Admission will be made after written entrance examination.
In accordance with NCTE norms, regular teachers working in primary, middle, secondary and higher secondary schools in Tamil Nadu, recognised by State / Central government, with a minimum of two years teaching experience are only eligible.

National Eligibility Test (NET) is a national level exam meant for scrutinizing the expert of the knowledge required for holding the position of Lecturers/professors/ associates/ research fellows at India's reputed universities. Earlier CBSE conducted the NET exam, but from December 2018 it is conducted by the National Testing Agency. UGC NET exam is conducted in approximately 81 subjects. To qualify the UGC NET exam, you have to crack NET exam which is divided into two parts i.e. Paper 1 and Paper 2. You have to score minimum marks in UGC NET which are as follow -
General Category Candidates 40 marks or 40% in Paper-I, 80 marks or 40% in Paper-II. Reserved Category Candidates 35 marks or 35% in Paper-I, 70 marks or 35% in Paper-II. Apart from that each subject has their separate cut-offs. Candidates need to achieve that target to qualify for the exam.

Candidates should have undergone 10+2+3 (15) or 11+1+3 (15) pattern of study and passed qualifying examinations conducted by the respective State Board or CBSE or any other recognized Board of Education/Exam and UG Degree Exam of the UGC Recognized Universities in any one of the school subjects offered by the Directorate of School Education at the Secondary/ Higher Secondary Educational Level.
The selection of candidates will be on the basis of the marks secured in the qualifying UG/PG Degree Exam. Candidates will be called for counselling in the order of their rank. Based on the rank and rule of reservations, allotment will be made. Hello Priyank, It's Indeed very heartening to know that after completion of your graduation you are very much interested in taking up teaching assignment in a Polytechnic College. Yes teaching is indeed a very noble profession and your interest in it is very nice to hear. Normally employments in polytechnics are done on an individual basis by the management of the Polytechnic. Of course at the state government level normally the employments are given via examination conducted by each state on the lines of UPSC. So you need to be on the Lookout for such advertisements in the newspaper or in the related Publication. Alternatively you can enroll yourself in one of the agencies which are recruiting people for different purposes including jobs in private Polytechnic colleges. Best wishes to you.
