The UGC NET exam is a national level exam which is conducted twice a year for the selection of assistant professor in the university and colleges, to pursue the Ph.D. and for junior research fellowship award. Yes, you can apply for the UGC NET exam. As you say, you have done M.Sc. With IT then the best option for you is UGC NET Computer Science and Applications. But make sure that you will fulfill all the requirements of the NET exam. You should have minimum 55% aggregate marks. If you want to apply for JRF NET exam then you have to fulfill age criteria also. Your age must not be more than 30 years. For assistant professor there is no limits on age.
