Hello Prachi,
No, you can't. The basic rule of NET exam is that the candidates can only apply for the exam with their masters' subject. According to your subject, you can apply for CSIR NET Earth Sciences in the place of UGC NET. It would be a better option for you. It is a national-level exam which is conducted for the Science stream students who want to become a researcher or a lecturer. Human resources is surely an area that involves training and development. So, yes indeed you are eligible to go for it. I would also suggest you to be a certified trainer in say soft skills especially so business communication and leadership, development and all. You can then feel the field much closer since you yourself are into it. You can explore not only internal training and development programs but also client level training and development delivery and management in any organisation. That way, your reach and growth both will be rapid.
